My never done in beta build

I built this watch.  It’s a rather plain watch, but I am extremely proud of it.

What you see is not perfect.  It’s not a rolex, or omega…I’m not a Swiss engineer.  But it is made of similar mechanical parts.

It’s not a very good watch in terms of being a watch.  It is not quartz or electric which are highly accurate.  You can get a better watch for $1.99.  It is mechanical.  You have to wind it.  On top of that, this is a complex movement…that is why the hand “sweeps”.  A lot more gears, a lot more things that can go wrong.  It will never keep perfect time and will always need occasional setting of the time.  It might be waterproof.

I love it.  What you don’t see is what makes it go.  This watch beats 21,600 times an hour.  Six times a second this little guy pounds away.  The hands, near impossible to put on.  I had to unbend it. Watch parts are small.  It is a damn miracle it works at all and I understand the talent it takes.

And yes, that is a scratch on the crystal. Watch tools are very pointy. I just got access to logo production equipment, so it is not done. It might never be.

I made this self contained mechanically powered watch with my analog tools.  While someone with a rolex might make fun of it, I don’t care.  I actually have something on my wrist that means something to me.

Some are proud of their purchase, I’m proud of my creation.

About Danny D

Chief Founder, Ruckus & Co.

A gentleman with a spark. A builder of meaning. A quiet Ruckus..

This is a picture of the first watch I made. It took 3.5 hours and it did not work. I liked it so much I started a company.

I’m Dan Daniel—Arizona-born, road-tested, and this time I get to do what I want to do. I believe in the beauty of things built with intention, worn with grace, and carried through time with a story behind them. That’s what Ruckus & Co. is all about.

After years in corporate leadership, entrepreneurship, and personal reinvention, I founded Ruckus & Co. to create something better than luxury: authenticity. Our mission isn’t just to make watches. It’s to make moments—objects that feel like they were always yours, built with soul and a bit of edge.

I’m drawn to timeless style, Hemingway grit, and the idea that a man can own one good watch, wear it for decades, and pass it on with a story worth telling. Every piece we design carries that weight: clean, tough, quiet confidence—just like the people who wear them.

This company is also a platform: for artists, craftsmen, and those who walk their own road. We partner with local designers, makers, and organizations doing meaningful work—because a good business should stir things up for the better.

So if you’re the kind of person who values story over status, craftsmanship over convenience, and grace over flash—

Well met. You’re one of us.
