My never done in beta build

I built this watch.  It’s a rather plain watch, but I am extremely proud of it.

What you see is not perfect.  It’s not a rolex, or omega…I’m not a Swiss engineer.  But it is made of similar mechanical parts.

It’s not a very good watch in terms of being a watch.  It is not quartz or electric which are highly accurate.  You can get a better watch for $1.99.  It is mechanical.  You have to wind it.  On top of that, this is a complex movement…that is why the hand “sweeps”.  A lot more gears, a lot more things that can go wrong.  It will never keep perfect time and will always need occasional setting of the time.  It might be waterproof.

I love it.  What you don’t see is what makes it go.  This watch beats 21,600 times an hour.  Six times a second this little guy pounds away.  The hands, near impossible to put on.  I had to unbend it. Watch parts are small.  It is a damn miracle it works at all and I understand the talent it takes.

And yes, that is a scratch on the crystal. Watch tools are very pointy. I just got access to logo production equipment, so it is not done. It might never be.

I made this self contained mechanically powered watch with my analog tools.  While someone with a rolex might make fun of it, I don’t care.  I actually have something on my wrist that means something to me.

Some are proud of their purchase, I’m proud of my creation.
